A letter to my beloved guests:
It is with bittersweet excitement that I announce my retirement from behind the chair. I have spent 23 awesome (mostly) years making many of you look and feel your best. When I tell you it has been a blessing and an honor to serve you all of these years- I mean it.
However, the time has come to put my shears away...sort of. The beginning of November I will start the transition to my new roll as one of Z Hair Academy's Cosmetology Instructors! I am beyond excited to start my new journey into teaching.
I always say, "Life is too short to only do one thing." I've always known that at some point my time behind the chair would come to an end and I would move on to the next chapter. I knew it would always be in this industry I just had no idea how. When I was given the opportunity to teach new stylists I took it as a sign that this was my time to move on. Not out of the industry completely- just a different avenue. It's what I've always wanted.
I know that while this is exciting for me, it is also sad (to say the least). Some of you have been coming to see me for over 18 years, and some of us just met. No matter the length of time, our relationship is based on TRUST as much as skill. I've shared deaths, births, weddings, graduations, etc with all of you. That is not something that is easy to let go of, or replace. I am keenly aware of the struggle this will cause and have numerous talented stylist I can refer you to. Need your formula? I got you. Whatever I can do (within reason) to make this transition easier for you- just let me know.
If you have appointments on the books for November they will not change. I also have a few appointments left if you'd like to get in one more time before December.
I am going to miss seeing all of your faces in my chair...
and with that I say, goodbye.
For now, not forever.
XOXOXO
